June is Made for Getting Outdoors & Having FUN!
The month of June is set aside for celebrating 3 amazing things that our Powersports dealership in Lebanon, Missouri, is all about. It is Great Outdoors Month, National Camping Month, AND International Mud Month!
Many of the activities surrounding those themes can be enjoyed more thoroughly when you have a few "toys" from LSK Lebanon. Powersports vehicles are made for getting outside and enjoying everything that nature has to offer.
Why June?
In our opinion, June is most likely the month chosen for each of these observations because the weather is generally great for getting back outside after a long winter indoors. June brings us the end of spring when it's not too hot yet not too cold most of the time, plus by the end of the month summer finally arrives. It's a wonderful "in-between" period for taking advantage of getting out of the house and having some fun.
Great Outdoors Month
In 1998, this celebration began as just an observed week, but in 2004 it was expanded to cover the entire month. That makes complete sense to us because there are so many wonderful ways to explore the great outdoors, 7 days simply isn't enough! As a matter of fact, 30 days may not be long enough for a lot of you, but it is an excellent incentive to start a good habit of getting outside more often on a daily basis.
This can be as simple as heading to your backyard for a picnic, playing in the yard, or even taking care of some spring cleanup yardwork. Of course, it can be very exciting too if you have paid a visit to your favorite Powersports dealer in Southern Missouri!
A motorcycle can take you on adventures, be it day trips or longer, to new areas you have not yet seen. Hopping in a boat and traveling down the river or across a lake opens up a sunny new world on the water. This could be a relaxing cruise, an exciting tubing or skiing experience, or a day full of fishing. Basically, both allow you some time to "unplug" and truly connect with nature.
National Camping Month
This one has officially been observed since the 1970s. Camping can improve your physical health due to the contributing factors of fresh air and sunlight. It's also good for your mental health because it allows you to get away from technology to a simpler, less hectic world. For those of you new to the activity, you can find places to camp that aren't a big shock to the system, like cabins with electricity and nearby conveniences.
For everyone that is willing to go "all natural" and pack up some gear, head deep into the woods, and stay a few days, there are plenty of gorgeous places around Missouri to do that too. Just load up one of our ATVs which will allow you to carry heavy loads across any type of terrain to find the perfect spot for some heavy camping!
International Mud Month
Speaking of ATVs, they are excellent tools for "playing" in the mud! In 2009 a group of people decided to recognize the beauty and enjoyment of maintaining a connection to Mother Nature's realm. They created one special day in June for this but soon realized that one day wasn't nearly enough time to escape a year's worth of a digital, modern world. Therefore, in 2015 they upgraded the celebration to last an entire month.
